How do I take a screenshot on my iPhone or iPad?

Follow the steps below to take a screenshot on your iPhone or iPad.

iPhone X and later, iPad models without a Home button

1. Press the Side button and Volume Up button at the same time.
2. Quickly release both buttons.

Your screen will briefly flash, and a small preview may appear in the corner of the screen. The screenshot is saved automatically.

iPhone 8 and earlier, iPad models with a Home button

1. Press the Side button (or Top button) and the Home button at the same time.
2. Quickly release both buttons.

Your screen will briefly flash to confirm the screenshot has been captured and saved.

Screenshots are saved in the Photos app and can usually be found in the Screenshots album.

You can attach screenshots to messages, emails, or support requests when needed.
